Helpful information
Frequently asked
questions.
Everything you may want to know before visiting SanSuk Sanctuary.
01How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be booked online through SanSuk website, Treatwell or by calling your preferred SanSuk Sanctuary branch directly.
02Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes, we welcome walk-in clients when a therapist is available. However, we recommend booking in advance, particularly during evenings and weekends.
03What massage treatments do you offer?
We offer Thai Combination Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Aromatherapy Massage, Swedish Massage, Thai Foot Massage and Prenatal Massage. Treatment availability may vary between branches, so please check the booking page for the latest options.
04Which massage should I choose?
Choose Thai Combination for stretching and pressure techniques, Deep Tissue for persistent muscle tension, Aromatherapy for gentle relaxation, Swedish for general relaxation and Thai Foot Massage for tired feet and lower legs. Our team will be happy to advise you if you are still unsure.
05How long should my massage be?
A 30- or 45-minute treatment is suitable for concentrating on a specific area, upper body or lower body, not a mix of both. E.G. customers ask for feet and head for 30 mins but it’s not enough time to warm up the body for a short massage treatment. A 60-minute massage provides a more complete treatment, while 90 or 120 minutes allows the therapist more time to work on several areas and provide deeper relaxation.
06Do I need to arrive early?
Please arrive approximately 5–10 minutes before your appointment so you have time to check in, discuss your treatment and prepare without feeling rushed. For new clients, we require you to complete a consultation form prior to your appointment.
07What should I wear?
Our treatments are all oil-based, however you will be asked to remain in your underwear at all times. Disposable underwear will be provided.
08Do I need to keep my underwear on?
Yes. Clients are required to keep their underwear on throughout the treatment. Appropriate towels or sheets will be used to ensure your privacy and comfort at all times.
09Can I request a specific therapist?
You are welcome to request a preferred therapist. However, we cannot always guarantee that the therapist will be available at your chosen time.
10Do I need to complete a consultation or medical form?
You may be asked to complete a short consultation form so that your therapist can understand your health, treatment goals and any areas that require particular care.
11What if I have a medical condition?
Please inform us of any medical conditions, recent injuries, surgery, allergies or medication before your treatment. Depending on your condition, we may ask you to obtain approval from your doctor before receiving massage therapy.
12Can I have a massage during pregnancy?
Prenatal Massage is available for pregnant clients after the first trimester. We recommend consulting your doctor or healthcare provider before booking, particularly if you have a high-risk pregnancy or any medical concerns.
13What if the pressure is too strong or I feel uncomfortable?
Please tell your therapist immediately if the pressure feels too strong, too light or uncomfortable. The pressure and techniques can be adjusted at any time.
14What if I am unhappy with my massage?
If you are unhappy with the treatment, pressure or technique, please inform your therapist within the first 15 minutes so that they have an opportunity to adjust the treatment.
15Is massage therapy sexual?
No. All treatments at SanSuk Sanctuary are strictly professional, therapeutic and non-sexual. Any inappropriate comments, requests or behaviour will result in the immediate termination of the treatment, and the client may be refused future appointments.
16What should I expect after a massage?
You may feel deeply relaxed after your massage. After firm-pressure or Deep Tissue treatments, you may also experience temporary muscle tenderness, similar to the feeling after exercise.
17What should I do after my massage?
Drink water, rest where possible and avoid strenuous exercise immediately after your treatment.
After an aromatherapy massage, it is recommended you refrain from drinking alcohol, smoking or ingesting caffeine for a few hours after your treatment
18Can massage cause bruising or soreness?
Temporary tenderness may occur following deeper muscle work. Please inform your therapist beforehand if you bruise easily, take blood-thinning medication or have a circulatory condition.
19What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change your appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments may be charged in full.
20Can I reschedule my appointment?
Yes. Please contact us at least 24 hours before your appointment if you need to change the date or time.
21What happens if I arrive late?
If you arrive late, your treatment may need to be shortened so that the next client is not delayed. The full treatment price will still apply.
22Do you offer couples massage?
Yes. A couples room is available exclusively at our Market Place branch, subject to room and therapist availability. At both locations, we can also arrange two treatments at the same time in separate rooms. Advance booking is recommended.
23Are gift vouchers available?
Yes, gift vouchers are available and make an ideal present for birthdays, celebrations or anyone in need of relaxation. They are purchasable only in-store.
